Coffee Farms

Working Directly with Coffee Farmers

Our coffee buyer Pete Rogers visits all our coffee farms to source the highest quality green coffee beans but he also works closely with the coffee farmers and workers to ensure best coffee farming practices.

Working closely with coffee farmers and workers is part of the Ethics and Community Aid programmes implemented by Rogers Estate Coffees across all the farms they own and work with in Central America.

Community Aid programmes see that coffee farmers and workers are treated fairly and have a safe environment in which to work. This involves paying coffee farmers and workers a payment they deserve which covers the cost of the production, infrastructure, maintenance as well as the need for a reasonable profit.

Please check out our videos on our Facebook page which showcase Pete Rogers’ trips to meet and work with coffee farmers:

For a real coffee adventure, why not consider taking a trip to “origin” for your next vacation? Many of the farmers with whom we do business run tours and vacation packages to their farms. The Rogers Family runs many of its Community Aid programs on these farms as well, so you can see the direct impact your purchase is making in coffee communities. Please see the list below and visit their websites. If you would like more information, please contact us, and ask to speak to Pete Rogers.

Ikawa Rwanda

We have recently placed 2 people in Rwanda to help the farmers learn how to grow better coffee. We are establishing Community Aid programs there, including help with schools, housing, meals and medical aid.

Anna Russo, a development and coffee specialist, is overseeing our projects in this formerly war-torn country that is trying to get back on its feet.
